Joint Research & Publication
MERO Foundation opens a collaboration program with researchers, lecturers and government agencies to conduct joint research and publication programs using various equipment and qualified research facilities in the MERO laboratory.
Scope of Joint Research
Joint research and publication activities include research activities conducted by researchers (university lecturers) and MERO who work on research topics agreed upon together, topics from the researchers themselves, or topics that already exist in MERO. Researchers are welcome to work on their own research topics in MERO by first contacting management regarding the availability of tools, materials and personnel/HR serving in the laboratory. In addition, researchers are also allowed to work on research topics that are being worked on or planned by MERO Scientists.
Joint publication activities can be carried out after there is an agreement between researchers to jointly write the results of joint research into a manuscript to be published by bringing their respective affiliations. In addition, researchers can also ask for scientific advice or expertise from MERO personnel related to the manuscript being worked on.
Topics of Joint Research
Research topics that can be used as references for other researchers to conduct joint research with MERO include:
- Identification of marine animal species, molluscs (nudibranchs), plankton, benthos, and other marine organisms.
- Survey of nudibranch diversity.
- Exploration of bacteria associated with marine animals.
- Antibacterial potential testing.
- Nudibranch feeding experiment.
Research Permit
Researchers are advised to complete the licensing documents in accordance with applicable regulations. Currently, the Bali provincial government has the Bali Provincial Research and Innovation Agency (https://bari.baliprov.go.id/). Please visit the website to get information related to research and innovation.
Research involving the collection of specimens from the sea must submit a research permit to the Investment and Integrated One-Stop Service Office (http://www.eperizinan.baliprov.go.id:4432/), LIPI or other authorized agencies. The MERO Foundation can provide assistance for researchers to complete the required documents. Please contact contact@merofoundation.org for more information.
